NAR - A Commitment to Advocacy
NAR is representing you and your customers before Congress and federal agencies:
- Protecting tax incentives for homeownership and real estate investment, including the mortgage interest deduction and commercial depreciation.
- Guarding private property rights and advancing sound and reasonable lending standards and access to credit.
- Lobbying for reasonable regulations.
- Providing financial and technical assistance at every level of government.
- Supporting candidates who protect real property ownership.
- Providing grants and guidance for community improvement.
The REALTOR® Party
The REALTOR® Party site connects you to calls for action (CFAs), keeps you informed about issues and provides access to your local, state and federal elected officials.
It is critical for REALTORS® to speak with one voice about the stability that the real estate market brings to our communities. From city hall to the state house to the U.S. Capitol, elected officials make decisions that have an impact on the bottom line of REALTORS® and their customers. The REALTOR® Action Center is where you learn how Voting, Acting and Investing in RPAC builds our political strength at every level of government.
Call for Action
When Congress is considering legislation that affects the real estate industry, NAR calls on its members to act. Simply by contacting your Member of Congress through an e-mail or a phone call, you can ensure that your business remains strong. NAR members join together and speak with one loud, powerful voice.

NAR's Broker Involvement Program empowers broker owners to alert their agents to key REALTOR® issues. When agents receive a Call for Action (CFA) from their broker, they listen and respond. By urging REALTORS® to respond to NAR's CFAs, we can shine a bright light in Congress on important real estate issues. The more agents take action, the more Congress will know the voice of the REALTOR® family and respond to our industry's needs.
REALTORS® Political Action Committee
Since 1969, the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) has promoted the election of pro-REALTOR® candidates across the country. The purpose of RPAC is clear: REALTORS® raise and spend money to elect candidates who understand and support REALTOR® interests. The money to accomplish this comes from voluntary contributions made by REALTORS®. RPAC doesn’t buy votes. RPAC supports industry-minded candidates. These candidates support the issues that are important to your profession and livelihood.
